Sensex, Nifty open flat; ITC, Infosys, HDFC major laggards -- 22 Mar 2016

The Sensex is up 1.14 points at 25286.51, and the Nifty is down 1.85 points at 7702.40. About 348 shares have advanced, 115 shares declined, and 32 shares are unchanged. 

                                               

BHEL, Axis Bank, L&T, Cipla and NTPC are top gainers while Hero, Adani Ports, HDFC, ITC and Infosys are losers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 66.58 per dollar against previous close of 66.53.

The 30-share index was trading at 25,208, down 76 points or 0.30 per cent. It touched a high of 25,331.01 and a low of 25,205.55 in morning trade. 
                                       

The Nifty50 was trading at 7,675 down 28 points or 0.37 per cent. It touched a high of 7,711.10 and a low of 7,674.70 in the first 30 minutes of trade.

BHEL (up 1.4 per cent), Lupin (up 1.2 per cent), Sun Pharma (up 0.7 per cent), Tata Steel (up 0.6 per cent), and M&M (up 0.7 per cent), were the major Sensex gainers. 

Adani Ports (down 1.7 per cent), Infosys (down 1.2 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.9 per cent) and Wipro (down 0.8 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
